Last Space Shuttle Program Flight
On July 8, the space shuttle, Atlantis, lifted off from Cape Canaveral in Florida. It was the last flight from all the missions that have been going on for the past 30 years. The ship was in space for 12 days, and carried" 3.5 tons of supplies" for International Space Station. When the shuttle arrived back to Earth July 21, Atlantis, and two other space shuttles from the missions were donated to museums which put an end to the 30 year old mission.
IBM's Watson Computer Wins Jeopardy!
Who ever thought a computer could be so smart? Well, no one, that is until people saw IBM's new Watson super computer. Watson entered into a Jeopardy! practice game with Jeopardy! champions, Ken Jennings and Brad Rutter. Watson totaly destroyed the two champions and proved that not all robots are as dumb as they seem. Some people compare Watson to Siri on the iPhone 4S.

Faster-Than-Light Neutrinos?
In September, a group of scientists found out that they could possibly "upend physics". In their experiment, which was called OPERA, the scientists "clocked lightweight particles called neutrinos" making the journey from Switzerland to Italy "60 nanoseconds faster than they would have been moving at the speed of light".
